Punjab Announces Detailed Academic Calendar for 2025; Matric and Inter Exam Schedule Declared
The Punjab Education Department has now come up with the detailed calendar for the current year 2025, detailing crucial examination dates and admission calendars. This was revealed as all the educational institutions across the province start their affairs in the academic year 2025-26.
Important Dates 2025
Matriculation Examination
Students preparing for their Matric exams should mark their calendars for March 4, 2025, when the examinations will commence. These exams are crucial for students completing their secondary education and seeking admission to intermediate colleges.
Class IX Examinations
The Class IX examinations are scheduled to begin on March 21, 2025. This timing allows students adequate preparation time while maintaining the academic calendar’s flow.
Intermediate Examinations
For Intermediate students, the exams are scheduled to be held in the first week of May 2025. This schedule gives ample time to the students to prepare for these crucial exams that usually decide their university admissions.
Academic Calendar Highlights
Government Schools
The new academic session 2025-26 will start from April 1, 2025. The education department has divided the admission process into two separate phases:
Admission schedule for primary level classes (Classes I to II): April 1 to May 31, 2025
Extra admission: August 15 to October 31, 2025
Private Schools
According to APPSMA President Abrar Ahmad Khan, private educational institutions will start with a bit different admission schedule as well.
New admission from: February 1, 2025
Annual examination: February 2025
Start new academic year: March 2025
Schedule of Examination of Lower Classes
Examination for Classes I to VIII
The annual examination for students of Classes I through VIII will begin from March 12 to March 25, 2025. Results of the said examination will be declared on March 31, 2025.
Early Years Education
Admissions for Junior Class Prep, Nursery, and Class I will be open for early education starting February 3, 2025.
