The good news: getting a driving license in GB is not hectic anymore, as applicants can avail themselves of an online application process. Online Application: A Step-by-Step Guide
Remember the days of long queues and heaps of papers? Thankfully, those days are a thing of the past. Now, a driving license in Gilgit Baltistan is just a few clicks and taps away. Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Access the DLIMS Website
Access the official website for the Driving License Issuance and Management System in Gilgit Baltistan: dlmis.gbp.gov.pk.
Step 2: Sign Up
If you are using the service for the first time, you will need to sign up. Subsequently, provide your name, contact details, and CNIC.
After logging in, search for a new driving license and fill out the form with correct information: address and type, car, motorcycle, etc.
Step 3: Get the Required Documents
For Learner License:
A Copy of your CNIC
Any Post Office Rs. 60 Ticket
Code Book of Traffic Rules from the Traffic Police Office
Medical Certificate by an Authorized Doctor
For New Regular License:
– Form of Endorsement
– Copy of Medical Certificate
– Copy of CNIC
– 2 attested recent photographs
– Original Learner Permit, which must be at least six weeks old
– Tickets of driving as per schedule
– First license attached
For Renewal of License:
– Application Form E (as required) within a file cover
– 2 passport-size photographs
– Copy of CNIC
– Original Driving License
– Medical Report
– Relevant license ticket
Note: No renewal charges within one month. Late renewals attract penalties: 50% within 90 days, 100% after 90 days but within a year.
Step 4: Appointment Scheduling
After submitting the application form, an appointment for physical and biometric verification at the licensing center will be scheduled.
Step 5: Fee Payment
Fees vary according to the license type. The Learner Permit is Rs. 60. Extra charges are a Bank challan of Rs. 450 and IDP, Rs. 66. Duplicates – For motorbikes, it is Rs. 100; for car and LTV, it is Rs. 150; and HTVs, it is Rs. 200.
Verification of Vehicle: For motorbike, it is Rs. 300, and for the rest of the vehicles, it is Rs. 1000
Age Limit for Learner Permits
– Motorcycle/Car: 18 years
LTV (Rickshaw, Taxi, Tractor Commercial): 21 years
Note: Learner permits are issued daily and shall be valid for six months.
Once you’ve completed all the steps, your application will be processed. You will be able to track your application status on the DLIMS website by using your application ID.
